Concept Consultation

We created a working relationship with Chromat that enables them to design forward-thinking wearable technology free of limitation.  Nitemind Creative also works to create runway sets that echo the concept of each collection, and serves as a one-stop solution for this fast-growing brand.  Even with sponsorship from giants such as Intel, Chromat still needs Nitemind.

Wearable Engineering

Chromat and Nitemind Creative are pushing the limits of current technology by adapting LEDs, Lasers, and Electroluminescent lights to fashion, that were previously thought to be unusable in this market.

Set Design

Nitemind Creative designs the Chromat runway sets in collaboration with Becca McCharen, CEO of Chromat, so that the set accentuates the collection and creates photo-ops for press and social media.

KORAKRIT ARUNANONDCHAI

PAINTING WITH HISTORY IN A ROOM FILLED WITH PEOPLE WITH FUNNY NAMES 3

Fire + Water Animations

A fire simulation light was created for an RGB LED strip, simulating fire using digital combustion, heat diffusion, convection & cooling algorithms in one-dimension.  A flowing water simulation algorithm was also created, with non-repeating waves of various size, depth, and speed.

Custom Fixtures

A pool was fitted with 40 underwater RGB lights and mapped with several different animation algorithms simulating “earth”, “air”, “fire”, “water”, and “energy”.  A jetskit was outfitted with sinusoidal chasing colors, and mannequins were given red LED eyes.

Synapse + Elephant Trigger

Arunanondchai placed many images from his own memory in the space in the form of photographs, paintings, and objects.  We programmed a brain synapse algorithm to activate each memory as if the viewer was inside the mind of the artist.  One memory included a kinetic scupture of an elephant trunk that painted a canvas when activated.

RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY FESTIVAL 2015

Challenge

Red Bull Music Academy Festival needed a unique & dynamic visual centerpiece for opening night event of the 2015 Festival in New York City.

Solution

We created an video mapped installation with multiple layers in 3D, and video-driven content firing in many directions. The main piece was a stage backdrop consisting of LED video mapped panels facing forward, with computer-controlled motorized venetian blinds in front of the panels. The blinds opened and closed in sync with the energy envelope of the event, either revealing the LED video behind, or diffusing it. Video was also projected onto the blinds from the front as an added element. Guests were mesmerized and instagramming this monolothic display the entire evening.

DAVID BLAINE: ELECTRIFIED

Challenge

Intel wanted to include the Ultrabook product as an interactive element during an event featuring David Blaine electrified with 1 million volts via artificial lightening bolt generating Tesla coils.

Solution

We wrote interactive software so that anyone could interact with the musically tuned Tesla coils using Intel's Ultrabook. We designed the software so that it could be operated by anyone, of any age & background. It was deployed not only onsite at pier 54 in New York, but in remote sites in London, Beijing, Sydney, & Tokyo. Our software was the sole link between the client's product and the installation.  It was featured on Good Morning America and The Today Show, and generated an international social media buzz with millions of impressions over 72+ hours.

Pop-Up Club

Nitemind Creative brings a full dance club lighting experience to a summer camp in the woods of upstate New York, for this 2-day electronic music festival.  Installations include video-mapped LEDs, lasers, moving head lights, fog machines galore, & our team of lighting artists at the helm for every moment.

UV Basketball Court

The camp's basketball court was made rave-ready by Nitemind Creative, complete with UV light blasting glowing court lines, outlines backboards, glow nets, and an entrancing glowing basketball, culminating in a mixed-gender 3-on-3 tournament - in the dark.

Dual Stages

Sustain Release's 2 stages were designed and realized by the team at Nitemind Creative.  Each Stage is designed to be a unique experience, taking advantage of the qualities of the spaces, and merging the summer-camp vibe with a New York City underground aesthetic.
